The General Link option is available to Rescue Organizations & Shelters, Not-for-Profit Clubs and Associations, as well as to Breeders. This option includes a simple text link with the name of your organization/kennel, linked to your website.

These links are placed under a specified category (i.e., Breed/Breeder, Rescue Organization, Club, etc.), in alphabetical order (by the organization/kennel name), and under the appropriate Province in Canada, State in the U.S., or Country if outside Canada or the United States.

If you are interested in having your link added to the listings, you must make a request via e-mail and have a valid web site address to link to. Please see the instructions below.

A reciprocal link to the Canada's Guide to Dogs website — http://www.canadasguidetodogs.com — is always very much appreciated and if you prefer to use graphic links, there are a few images available on the "linking" page at: www.canadasguidetodogs.com/linking.htm.

For Breeders:

The Canada's Guide to Dogs website includes listings of Breeders of pure bred dogs only. We do not recommend, endorse or support any one breeder over another and we will never knowingly list a Breeder who runs a puppy mill, backyard style breeding operation, or sells their dogs to brokers, pet stores or retailers of any kind. In order to meet the criteria necessary to be included in the Breeder Listings, we request that you complete a brief online questionnaire prior to being accepted for inclusion. Your response to this questionnaire is for our own purposes only and will never be passed on to any person and/or organization. While we do not recommend any breeder, we do attempt to include only responsible and reputable Breeders in the listings. For this reason, we do reserve the right to refuse any listing/link as well as the right to immediately remove the listing/link of any Breeder who has already been listed at our sole discretion.

Please Note: The FREE links are added when time permits. Therefore, it can take 8-12 weeks for your link to be included on the site. If you would like to be added sooner, please consider one of the paid advertising options - Click Here for details.

For Rescue Organizations/Shelters:

While we would like to be able to offer all not-for-profit, legitimate Rescue Organizations the opportunity to be included in the listings, we are concerned about unintentionally including organizations who are questionable in their rescue practices. Therefore, we request that Rescue Organizations complete the Rescue Questionnaire prior to being included on the website. (Please note that Rescues and Shelters are not required to have a website in order to be included — Contact information such as telephone number and/or e-mail addresses can be included instead.) We do not recommend, endorse or support any one organization over another and we will never knowingly list an organization who runs a puppy mill, backyard style breeding operation, or sells their dogs (or any animal) to brokers, pet stores or retailers of any kind. We reserve the right to refuse any listing/link as well as the right to immediately remove the listing/link of any organization who has already been listed at our sole discretion.

For Clubs and Other Not-For-Profit Organizations:

Please send an e-mail to: guidetodogs@rogers.com, with "Free Link Request" included in the Subject Line of your e-mail, and include the following information:

• The Name of your Organization (as you would like it to appear online).
• The website address to be linked to.
• The Category(ies) where your link should be shown (i.e., Club).
• Your province (i.e., under which province you would like your link to appear), state, or country (if not in Canada or the United States).
• An e-mail address where we can contact you.

Once your link has been added to the listings, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you to verify the information published. (Please note, the general links are added when time permits and can take from 8-12 weeks for processing - thank you for your patience and if you do not receive a response within this timeframe, please resend your request as it may not have been received.
