Greyhound Rescue & Adoption Organizations
|
Please Note: Greyhounds typically have a short racing career, usually retiring by the age of five years, and since their life expectancy is between 12 to 15 years, there are almost always adult dogs looking for adoption into loving homes. Also see the Fundraiser Events listed where there are always various events happening, including meet-and-greets, which gives you a good opportunity to meet a Greyhound. We urge you to consider the adoption of an adult Greyhound.

- The Greyhound Supporters of the National Capital Region (GSNCR)
The GSNCR was established in the summer of 2005. We are a "not-for-profit" group
comprised of individuals interested in the health and welfare of the
Retired Racing Greyhound. The purpose of the group is twofold. We support greyhound-related
causes that have been established to improve the health and physical
well being of the retired racing greyhound globally. We do this by
hosting fund-raising initiatives or finding other ways to support these
causes, such as our Galgos corner. In addition, we work to raise public awareness of retired racing
greyhounds as pets, and of the status of greyhounds around the world by
hosting events like International Greyhound Planet Day.
