Breeder Experience:
I was raised on a Holstein Dairy farm and exhibited cattle with my father. During those years, I was first introduced to pedigrees and registrations with Agriculture Canada as well as artificial insemminations. I had my first purebred dog in 1960 and began showing and breeding Basenjis under the Conamore prefex in the early 60's.
Show/Exhibiting Experience:
Winner of the Basenji Club of America National Speciality in 1989 and have bred my sixth generation. I have exported dogs to South Africa, the USA and throughout Canada, and have contributed to international breed books in England, Canada and the USA.
I am still active in breeding and I was the first Canadian to own/handle BISS winning the BCOA in 1989. This was the first Canadian Basenji to win a BIS in Canada in 15 years. I am the founder of the second Basenji Club of Canada, which is thriving today, and have been involved in dog legislation both federally and provincially.
Judging Experience:
My judging experience has taken me into many countries and introduced me to many experiences. I have been honoured to judge many National Specialities and especially those involving my major breed "Basenjis". I have judged the BCOC National Specialty twice and now am invited to judge the BCOA National this year. I have had the honour of judging large USA shows such as Steel City Cluster, Blue/Grey Cluster/Duluth KC.
I have judged successfully throughout the USA and Canada and have done championship shows in England, Australia (East and West), Mexico and South America; including BCOC National, Alaskan Malamute Specialty of Canada, Bloodhound National, Tibetan Terrier Specialty and many more. I have also judged many working and sporting supported entries and Specialties.
I have been blessed with a talent of loving dogs and people.
